A three-week delay in receiving a shipment of armature wire cut the time I had to work on this project from 10 weeks to 6.5, so I did not get a chance to model the surface to the extent that I wanted. The date cited is simply the last day I had to work on it. Still, she looks pretty good even unfinished. The plaster cast will have to show the modelling I want to do.

While working on this piece the story of Lot's flight from Sodom kept coming up. As I worked, I grew more and more fond of this figure's twisting but erect posture. To me it seems like he is tempted to turn around but can resist the urge, while his face is frozen in a look of sudden realization.
